ANXIETY
What is anxiety?
We all feel anxious from time to time, e.g. before a medical appointment. Anxiety is our body’s natural response to stress. However, for some people anxiety can take over their lives. If your feelings of anxiety are extreme, last for longer than six months and are interfering with your life, you may have an anxiety disorder. Symptoms of anxiety include:
-
- Increased heart rate
- Difficulty falling asleep
- Rapid breathing
- Trouble concentrating
- Restlessness
How common is anxiety?
Anxiety is very common and fortunately it is very treatable.
